Local Designer Awarded Kitchen & Bath
Industry’s Highest Accreditation
Westbrook, CT – February 2005 – Local
designer and owner of Covenant Kitchens & Baths, Inc., Gerard
Ciccarello, recently was awarded the accreditation of Certified
Master Kitchen & Bath Designer (CMKBD), the highest level of
achievement and accomplishment offered by the National Kitchen &
Bath Association. The association’s Certified Master Kitchen
and Bathroom Designer program is designed to benchmark the
skills and knowledge of those senior professionals with more
than 10 years of kitchen and bath industry experience.
“With this new accreditation, I’m pleased
to offer consumers and other design professionals an even
greater confidence of my knowledge, ability and experience in
the design of today’s sophisticated, residential kitchens and
baths,” says Ciccarello.
To qualify for the CMKBD title, candidates
must possess both the CKD (Certified Kitchen Designer) and CBD
(Certified Bath Designer) certificates. In addition to this
work experience and certification prerequisites, CMKBD
candidates must complete 100 hours of CMKBD approved
professional development training and obtain third party
endorsements attesting to their design excellence. All
candidates must also pass a written CMKBD certification
examination, which tests their knowledge of the basic principles
behind kitchen and bathroom design.
Who needs a Certified Master
Kitchen & Bath Designer?
Anyone who is considering a new kitchen or
bath needs a CMKBD. This includes the consumer, the architect,
the professional builder, or the interior designer/decorator.
The CMKBD will not only do the total job for the consumer, but
their assistance to architects, interior designers and builders
is invaluable when it comes to technical knowledge, product
supply, and supervision in the planning and development of
residential kitchens and baths.
